The Belfast Sliders started their 2023 Softball Ulster League Division A campaign with a home win against the Bangor Buccaneers on Monday 15th May 2023.
Starting strong with an 11-3 first inning, the Sliders were able to hold the Bucs to 2 runs or less in the following innings to give a final score of 22-6 to the guys and gals in green. As per the new 2023 League Rules, the game ended with the run ahead rule being implemented after the fourth inning. The Sliders are now, after week one of the Softball Ulster League, top of Division A with 5 points (and 9 run difference) lead in the league table.
Next up is a home game against 2022 league winners, the Brawlers, on Monday 19th May, 7pm, at Hydebank Playing Fields.
